Across 17 plans priced in Texas, a hot tub pump adds $31.56 to $83.64 a year — $2.63 to $6.97 a month. The median plan puts a hot tub pump at $56.91 a year.

Those 464 kWh are billed at 6.8¢–18.0¢, against a 12.7¢ whole-bill average on the median plan: they land in the last tier the household reaches, so the average rate understates them by up to 5.3¢ per kWh.

What Texas homes use

EIA's 2020 residential survey found 464 kWh a year across 64 sampled homes that run one, near the national 484 kWh. The middle half spans 185 kWh to 693 kWh, so a hot tub pump varies by 508 kWh between one household and another.

Sharyland Utilities LP charges $30.60 a year more than El Paso Electric Co (New Mexico) on RS - TOD for the same 464 kWh.

Light and heavy use of a hot tub pump

A household in the lighter quarter runs a hot tub pump for 185 kWh a year and pays $12.56 on the cheapest plan. One in the heavier quarter runs it for 693 kWh and pays $47.02 — $34.46 more for a hot tub pump on the same tariff.
