Across 11 plans priced in Pennsylvania, a humidifier adds $12.96 to $29.16 a year — $1.08 to $2.43 a month. The median plan puts a humidifier at $27.93 a year.

What Pennsylvania homes use
EIA's 2020 residential survey found 130 kWh a year across 175 sampled homes that run one, near the national 139 kWh. The middle half spans 61 kWh to 157 kWh, so a humidifier varies by 95 kWh between one household and another.

A household in the lighter quarter runs a humidifier for 61 kWh a year and pays $6.12 on the cheapest plan. One in the heavier quarter runs it for 157 kWh and pays $15.72 — $9.60 more for a humidifier on the same tariff.
